Capt Peter Osted

 

Capt. Peter Osted began his military career at the age of 14 as a cadet with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Cadet Corps in Winnipeg Manitoba.  At the age of 17 he joined the Reserves again with the Royal Winnipeg rifles.  With the Winnipeg Rifles he spent 2 summers as staff at Vernon army cadet camp.

Upon moving to Hay River in 1966 he transferred to the CIC. In 1966 Peter Osted took over but was forced by lack of support to close the corps down in 1968.

In 1971 an Army cadet corps was again formed in Hay River with then Lt. Osted on staff.  Since that time he has served almost continuously with 2724 RCACC in Hay River.  With Two years on Sup List to return to school, Receiving a BA in Education, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.

Capt. Osted has held all positions within the Corps and was the CO from 1987-2002.
