Biography

Capt John Greenshields CD 

 

Captain John Greenshields originally commissioned as an infantry officer in 1978 with the Lanark & Renfrew Scottish Regiment and subsequently served as an officer of the Governor General's Foot Guards, and a number of other organizations. Duty appointments included infantry platoon commander, company second-in-command, company commander, adjutant and staff officer 3.

He Joined the Cadet Instructors List and served as commanding Officer of the 385th, 2414 and No. 9 Cadet Corps. Also served as Assistant Adjutant of the Black down Army Cadet Summer Training Centre and as a training company 2 i/c.

Awarded hereditary honours from the Crown in Canada (1994) through the auspices of the Canadian Heraldic Authority and as recorded in the Public Register of Arms, Flags and Badges of Canada. Captain Greenshields has also been awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration.

A former Queen's Scout he is also active in a number of other organizations including the Kiwanis Club of Forest City London and the Knight of the Military & Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem and awarded the Order of Merit in the Grade of Member.
