When the Bn stood down as the war was ending I was the last man out and then transferred to HHC 34th Eng Bn. 18th Eng Bdge  Sept to Dec.1971

As I was being possessed out of Vietnam in Saigon , I had the opportunity to watch the Bob Hope USO show and have Christmas dinner with him.

After I got out of the Army the political situation was very much against the US Army and its Veterans. As many Vets were getting out, jobs were hard to get. I came back to Canada and got a job in Calgary , in the field that I was in before entering the Army.

My cousin was in the LdSH and told me that the Cadet Corps needed a Range Officer. I then joined the Corps and went through all the positions, but my favorite was the Supply Officer under Captains Hanner, Jessen, and Hampson. We had a very successful corps and I enjoyed it very much.

In 1985 I married Angela and we had 3 children.

In 1987 we moved to St. Albert and in 1988 I joined the Airborne Cadets

In 1989 I took over command till 1990

After my divorce, I moved back to Calgary and got back into the American Legion and became the Post Commander and the District Commander
