Biography

Captain Shannon E. Scarisbrick

 

Captain Shannon Elizabeth Scarisbrick (nee. Hignell) was born in Banff , Alberta and raised in Lethbridge , Alberta , where she graduated from Immanuel Christian School . Captain Scarisbrick was a member of 2296 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, affiliated to the 18th Air Defense Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery.

Captain Scarisbrick enrolled in the Cadet Instructor’s Cadre in 1999, and served as the Training Officer with 2309 RCACC in Fort MacLeod , Alberta . She has since then served as the Training Officer with 2296 RCACC in Lethbridge , Alberta and as the Training Officer and Administration Officer with 2422 RCACC in Nanaimo , BC . In November of 2005 Captain Scarisbrick became the Commanding Officer of 2422 RCACC. In addition, Captain Scarisbrick has been employed as a staff member at different Army Cadet Summer Training Centers, most recently at the Connaught National Army Cadet Summer Training Centre, where in 2004 she was employed as the Officer Commanding the Maple Leaf Exchange to the United Kingdom .

Captain Scarisbrick has attended the University of Lethbridge where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree, as well as Malaspina University College in Nanaimo, BC where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Captain Scarisbrick is a Registered Nurse, and currently works at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital as a staff nurse on the Pediatric Unit. She is currently pursuing an advanced diploma in Pediatric Critical Care Nursing from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Captain Scarisbrick lives in Nanaimo, BC with her husband John.
