Biography

Capt Small

Captain Small was born in Strathroy but grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She enrolled as a Sea Cadet at 48 Agamemnon RC (Sea) CC from 1995 to 1998 in Windsor, where she achieved the rank of Petty Officer First Class before she departed. Being in cadets for a short time she decided to stay with the cadet program and served as a Civilian Instructor for 2 years.

Captain Small was enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Cadet in 2000 as a member of 48 Agamemnon under Lieutenant (Navy) C. Dickson; she served with them until 2002 when she decided to do an elemental transfer to the Army Cadet unit under Major G. Wells. She was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in 2002 and Lieutenant in 2003. 

During her time with the Army Cadet unit she has held the positions of Assistant Administration Officer, Administration Officer and her present position as Deputy Commanding Officer under Captain S. Ewasyke. She has been to three different Summer Camps, in 2002 she went to HMCS Ontario and served as a Divisional Officer, in 2003 she went to CSTC Blackdown and served as a Company Administration Officer and in 2004 served at CSTC Connaught as a Company Administration Officer. 

Captain Small married on June 2, 2002 to Robert Small; together they have two beautiful children that mean the world to them. Captain Small works for Wal-Mart Canada and is a credit away from graduating from St.Clair College with a 
diploma in Architectural Technology and is in her first year of Graphic Design.

Captain Small Looks forward to working closely with all the staff and cadets of 2861 Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers and looks forward to her upcoming years as Commanding Officer.
