Captain Theresa Ruel, CD
Captain Theresa Ruel was born and raised in
. In 1994, her husband decided to take one last UN tour and moved the family back to Woodstock, New Brunswick. She graduated from in 1979 and joined the CF in December of 1980. Over her 12-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces she has been stationed at CFB Kingston, CFSD Moncton, CFB Borden, CFB Gagetown, 403 HOTS Gagetown, CFB North Bay and in 1989, she returned to CFB Gagetown, where she met and married Sgt. J.A. Pierre Ruel. She took a voluntary release from the CF in 1991 to follow her husband when he was transferred to 28 Svc Btn in Woodstock High School Ottawa before he retired from the military. Theresa joined 318 RCACC in 1998 as a civilian instructor and returned to the CF as a CIC Officer in 2000. During that time she held the position of Training Officer until August 2004, at which time she assumed the position of Commanding Officer.
Theresa and Pierre (who also works with 318 RCACC), have four children between them, all of whom are members of the CF, and one granddaughter.
