History -   

Dryden High School Cadet Corps was formed 4 Oct 44, sponsored by Dryden School Board. It was affiliated with 116th Medium Battery RCA on 9 Mar 48. The Corps disbanded 1 Feb 49, and redesignated same date as Dryden Cadet Corps under the sponsorship of 'B' Troop, 116th Med Bty RCA and affiliated with same. It again disbanded 16 May 54, and redesignated 17 May 54 under the sponsorship of Branch 63, Royal Canadian Legion, Dryden. It affiliated with 40th Med Bty RCA, 'B' Troop 116th Bty, effective 12 Apr 60. The Corps became affiliated with 40th Med Arty Regt. The affiliation again changed on 28 Jan 75 to CFB Sioux Lookout. D Cdts msg 030 of January 1986 authorized change of affiliation unit from CFS Sioux Lookout to 116 Independent Field Battery (RCA), Kenora, Ont. H.Q 12-D-65
