 62 Hamilton Collegiate Institute Cadet Corps was originally formed 8 Mar 1900, affiliated with the 13th Regiment, later with the R Hamilton Regt, and disbanded 11 Jan 1951. 
2379 Royal Hamilton Light Infantry Cadet Corps was formed 28 Feb 1950, and in 1989, requested that #62 be allocated to them.

The formation of 2379 RHLI Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in Burlington, Ontario was authorized 1 Nov 91 (D Cdts Adm 4019). Its unit of affiliation is the Royal Hamilton Light infantry (Wentworth Regt) and is sponsored by Branch 60, Royal Canadian Legion, Burlington, Ontario. Support Base is CFB Toronto. As the number 2379 was now not in use, it was assigned to this new corps
