History -

The Yukon Legion Army Cadet Corps was formed 1 October 1961 under the sponsorship of Branch 254, Royal Canadian Legion, Whitehorse and affiliated with 19th Alberta Dragoons. affil.: 19th Alberta Dragoons, Oct 1, 1961. On May 1, 1962 the Corps changed affiliation to the Yukon Regiment. Due to the reorganization of the militia, The Yukon Regiment was placed on SOB in Jun 1968. On 18 Feb 1969 authority was granted for the Corps to affiliate with the *The 49th Loyal Edmonton Regiment. In Sep 69 the Corps was placed on probation for nine months due to low attendance. Probation was extended to Mar 1971. On 15 Jan 1974 (message D Cdts 45) authority was granted to redesignate the Corps to Yukon Regiment Army Cadet Corps. Message D Cdts 737 suggested that the Corps be amalgamated with 2960 Cadet Corps (15 Aug 1980). E-mail from 1 Dec 1998 states the affiliated unit as 49th LEdmnR (4PPCLI).
