History -   

 2748 Fort Smith Cadet Corps was formed 1 October 1963 under the sponsorship of Branch 239, Royal Canadian Legion, Fort Smith. It was affiliated with Loyal Edmonton Regiment. In Feb 1970 the Corps was placed on probation for a period of one year due to a lack of adult assistance. Message 1087-11-5387 dated 26 Nov 1975 removed probation. According to the 1981 annual inspection report the Corps was placed on probation effective 1 Sep 1981 for a period of one year. Letter NR 1087-2 (SO Cdts) dated 4 Jan 1984 stated that probation was removed.
