History - 

285 Morrison Public School Cadet Corps was formed in Antigonish 18 March 1911, and disbanded 19 May 1927. 
Another corps was formed in Antigonish on 9 December 1943, 2013 The Morrison School Cadet Corps. It disbanded 30 June 1947.

The formation of 285 Antigonish Army Cadet Corps in Antigonish, Nova Scotia is authorized effective 1 Apr 94. The number 285 is assigned to perpetuate the history of Army Cadets in Antigonish. The corps is sponsored by Branch Arras 59, Royal Canadian Legion, Antigonish.. The affiliated unit is 1st Battalion Nova Scotia Highlanders North and Support Base is 12 Wing, CFB Shearwater.
