History -

This corps was originally formed 1 Sep 1956 under the sponsorship of the Can Scottish Regt and affiliated with same. It was disbanded 9 Apr 1959.
The corps reformed again effective 15 Jul 1989 as 2598 Sidney Signal Cadet Corps. It is sponsored by the BC Army Cadet League and co-sponsored and affiliated with the 741 (Victoria) Comm Sqdn. D Cdts Adm 5008 changes former designation: 2598 Sidney Signal CC to new designation: 3005 Sidney Signal RC (Army) CC effective 13 May 1992. (This was done to allow the corps to use the corps flag and memorabilia of the 3005 unit, from the same area. The number 3005 had previously been assigned to the Victoria Signals Army Cadet Corps, formed 1 Aug 84, and disbanded 10 Jan 1992.)
The following changes were authorized 24 Mar 1994 (D Cdts Adm 198):
Sponsor - Branch 12, Army, Navy, Airforce Veterans Association. Designation - 3005 11 Service Batallion Cadet Corps. Affiliation - 11 (Victoria) Service Battalion (Militia). Location - CFB Esquimalt, BC.
