How to contribute photos, images, etc.

The digital evolution has made what we do so much easier. We hope these simple steps will help you help us.

Old photos and documents - If your photos are in a photo album, simply scan the pages one at a time, don't worry about the white between the photos. If you can, identify the photos in a basic form: date, people, activity. If the info is already hand written on the photo album, all the better. Please identify what corps or camp they are. Follow the scanning protocol below, then simply email us at Email Photos. If you have too many photos to email, we'll leave that to your judgment, burn the scans to a CD or DVD and mail to us

Scanning Protocol:

  1. Scan at 300 dpi

  2. Keep it simple - rename your files according to corps: Your corps is #1234 picture is from 2011 on FTX Fun, picture #1  =   CC1234_2011_FTX_Fun_1

  3. If it's a camp - Vernon_1966_bloggins_and_me_1

  4. Please keep emails under 10meg in size, email servers have problems with anything larger than 10 megs

  5. DO NOT send Powerpoint presentations PDFs or other imbedded photos. Extraction is too time consuming and the quality can suffer.

Digital photos are even easier, simply download to your computer and email them to us, again basic identification goes along way to telling the story.

Guide lines for Digital Photography:

  1. use the best resolution possible

  2. avoid digital zoom, ie 200x zoom or other unrealistic zooms, pixilated images are very poor

  3. the larger the size the better, within reason, eg. 3000x2000 jpgs are the best

  4. Please keep emails under 10meg in size, email servers have problems with anything larger than 10 megs

  5. DO NOT send Powerpoint presentations PDFs or other imbedded photos. Extraction is too time consuming and the quality can suffer.
