28 July 1943
Canadian troops clear the Sicilian town of Agira after heavy fighting in and around the heights of Monte Crapuzza. Troops from the Seaforth Highlanders enter the town to a warm reception from the local population, but sniper and machine-gun fire persist from the retreating Germans.
