Charter flights await the cadets at Kelowna International Airport, this group flying back to Winnipeg, there busses will transport them to Brandon, Virden, Croos Lake, Flin Flon and further, some will be traveling for ten hours or more before they arrive home (VACSTC/Wayne Emde)

This day in Canadian Military History...

20 August 1720
France's native allies in Acadia, the Abenaki and Micmacs, strike the English fishing settlement at Canso (N.S.), killing several residents and carrying away 20,000 in fish and merchandise.



20 August 1918
U-156 surfaces and commandeers the steam trawler Triumph in Canadian waters. The crew is allowed to take to their lifeboats, and will land at Canso, N.S., early tomorrow.
