The sign on the pizza restaurant just outside the camp, for those with long memories you might remember it as Del's Drive in the 1970s and 80s and Grace's Drive in the 50s and 60s, home of quite possibly the best cheeseburger, french fry and chocolate shake combo back in the day. Construction of Ft. Frontenac (Kingston, Ont.) by French troops under the command of Frontenac is underway, the land for the site being cleared within two days of the French landing.

Detachments of Canadian troops are placed in the British columns chasing Boer rebels north of Pretoria.
